Conservativism

Conservativism is a political ideology that favors more limited and local government, less government regulation of markets, and more social conformity to traditional norms and values. Conservatives favor more government regulation of business and support for social welfare but less regulation of private social conduct. In politics, researchers usually define “conservativism” as a general tendency to resist change and tolerate social inequality. “Liberalism” means a tendency to embrace change and reject inequality.
