Gender Gap

Definition

The gender gap refers to the difference in the percentage of women and the percentage of men voting for a given candidate or supporting a particular party, officeholder, or issue. The regular patterns by which women - relative to men - are more likely to hold more liberal views and support Democratic candidates.
